SAFCEC notes with great concern the serious allegations of corruption and maladministration in the Construction SETA that have been raised in the media recently.

SAFCEC is of the view that the Malatji independent commission of enquiry set up to look into these allegations must be provided the space to conclude its investigation. SAFCEC encourages any of its members who are aware of such conduct to submit their evidence to the commission of enquiry.

SAFCEC supports the legal, statutory and independent processes currently taking place and looks forward to a speedy conclusion. SAFCEC can only comment further once the findings are made public.
