Legislation refers to the process of enacting statutory laws, or to the set of statutory laws in a state. Legislation is passed by a legislature and, in some states, must also be confirmed by the executive. When a bill becomes a law the law is said to be 'promulgated' or 'enacted' It is written laws made by Parliament or a provincial legislature (Acts) or by a person or body that has law-making authority, usually delegated by Parliament or a legislature and exercised by making regulations or other delegated legislation. On this page we only include legislation relating to training and development, but would refer members to the Department of Labour website (www.dol.gov.za) if they should require more detailed information.
