The SAFCEC Business Plan assigns several activities to this portfolio, namely: 

• Monitor all legislation affecting the industry and keeping members informed;
• Monitor, influence and give advice on the current procurement rules and regulations;
• Develop and update contract documentation and cooperate with industry organizations;
• Develop and update specifications and cooperate with industry organizations;
• Monitor and provide advice on the Contract Price Adjustment Formula (CPAF) and cooperate with STATS SA on these issues; and
• Advise members on contractual matters.
